Custom Porting Muzzle Breaks
At Arctic Gunworks we offer custom porting and muzzle breaks. If you would like to dampen the recoil on your gun, bring it to us at Artic Gunworks, where you can expect precision and high-quality craftsmanship. One of the primary benefits that you can expect when you bring your gun to port near the muzzle is up to 50% less felt recoil and control muzzle jump. In addition, you can rest assured that this process will not hinder or help your pattern.
Porting:
A break is machined in the last 11/2″ of your barrel. All work is custom tailored to your rifle with or without iron site. Accuracy is not physically affected, velocity loss of 30-50 FPS.
Muzzle Breaks:
The “muzzle break” is a removable device, threaded to your barrel. No velocity loss but far more expensive, same recoil reduction as porting. (Bluing may not match barrel.)

Ported barrel with full band front sight. The thicker barrel material, as a result of the sight, provides a greater contact surface within each port. This results in added efficiency of this type of porting job.
Screw on break as used by Arctic Gunworks. This device has the same internal expansion chamber as used when barrels are ported. This custom feature not offered by commercial breaks.
At Artic Gunworks, we have over three decades of experience in these processes. If you are an avid hunter or often participate in shooting competitions where you take multiple shots at a time, this is the ideal process for your gun. Most of the lifting action will be canceled by the redirected force. In addition, faster follow-up shots are attainable through porting.
An important side note is that all porting is custom work depending on the port and sights.
